About Art Therapy (under ANZACATA)
For more information: ANZACATA Ethics and Standards Art therapy is a versatile approach that supports emotional well-being across all ages and backgrounds. It is particularly effective for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, helping them communicate experiences and emotions when verbal expression is difficult. It benefits individuals with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, addiction, PTSD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, dementia, and autism spectrum disorder, as well as those seeking a safe space for reflection. Art therapy enhances self-awareness, self-esteem, relationships, and overall mental health and can aid in managing chronic illness, psychosocial challenges, and cognitive decline. Group sessions promote community healing and connection. Art therapy integrates three approaches: Psychodynamic: explores unconscious thoughts and emotions through art. Cognitive Behavioural: uses art to identify and restructure negative thought patterns. Humanistic: emphasises personal growth, self-expression, and self-exploration. Sessions are non-judgemental and supportive, offering individual and group formats. Art can also be used to assess emotional states and inform treatment plans.

About Specialist Wellness Counselling (under ASCHP)
Specialist Wellness Counselling is a holistic approach to mental health and well-being, integrating emotional, physical, and spiritual aspects of life. It supports clients in resolving conflicts, improving relationships, coping with challenges, and achieving overall wellness. Counsellors provide guidance on stress, trauma, addiction, bereavement, lifestyle management, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, anxiety, depression, and general life challenges. They also support vulnerable individuals, families, and caregivers. Working at the primary health care level, counsellors refer clients to medical or psychological professionals when needs fall outside their scope, such as severe mental health or medical conditions. Services are offered individually or in groups, using professional, ethical, and supportive methods to promote well-being.
